Big hugs....

Hi, Ive had a lovely day crafting as the kids watched films with their Dad, reasonably peaceful too, strangely!!
The card that I have to share today is a sweet image from Elizabeth Bell, I love these images they are so nice to colour.  I finally cut into one of my Pion design papers, pink butterfly, let me tell you it wasnt easy, I kept searching through all my other pads and sheets to try and find something else but it had to be this one it just suited my colours and the image, so after much sweating and stress I managed it (but only just lol !!!). Ive used bazzill bling cardstock for matting and layering , for the cheery lynne swirl die and the leaves. The flowers were cut from first edition papers, hand rolled and finished with a pearl. I them slapped on some iridescent medium around the edges and the flowers. Its a lot more twinkly IRL.

Pretty in pink (again!!)....

Good morning lovely bloggers, hope the weather is as lovely where you are as it is here today. I thought I would get this post done quickly then I'm off to plant my 2 apple trees that I bought yesterday, one of them has the teeniest cutist little baby apple on it, sweet!

So for todays card Ive used one of my favourite tilda stamps again, I just love this little lady so much, she is just the sweetest.
Ive used magnolia paper, WOC flowers, ruffle ribbon from the ribbon girl and sweet pink broderie anglaise lace from my local shop. The little hearts around Tilda are the punch outs from the border punch. I've decorated the inside of the card to compliment the outside.

Wouldn't I love to do this...

Well hello there, hope everybody is well? Can't believe its Friday again, gosh doesnt the week just fly in some times.
Its starting to get a bit stressful in our house and it will only get worse as next Thursday gets nearer, What am I talking about I hear you ask? Its the dreaded EXAM RESULTS!!!, if I think its bad having a grumpy, moody hormonal teenager try adding exam results into the mix aaarrrggghhh. Well we will just have to wait and see, she assured us she did her best and thats all I ask for.

Right lets get onto the card Ive made today, (well yesterday actually!) When I saw the lovely Sara had done a Belles n whistles card the other day I remembered that i had some of these lovely stamps and they hadnt seen any ink yet (hanging head in shame !! lol) So I decided to dig them out and set about colouring this sweet image. Oh how I wish I could grab a good book and go sit under a tree and read in the gorgeous sunshine without a care in the world, wouldnt that be lovely?

Ive used the lovely ella blue papers today and I decided to roll my own flowers. The lace is my last bit of the handmade vintage lace that I bought in Callander :-(

Thanks for dropping by.

Summer days....

Hi everyone, hope all are well and have been enjoying the gorgeous weather we've been having, not so nice today here though but its meant to be nice again tomorrow! I've had a lovely few days out and about with the kids, OH is on holiday so we are just having day trips. Went to Callander on tuesday to have a picnic, and for me to go and see if I could get any more antique lace, but sadly the shop had none :0( The shop owner did say he may have some more soon though :0)

As I knew it was to be raining today I had my mind made up I was having some crafting time, so once everyone was fed and dressed I quickly nipped down to my craft desk and got stuck in, had to stop several times to help Meghan, she decided she was going to paint her en-suite, which now means I have to get the wallpapering done!
But I managed to ignore everyone and got stuck into making a few cards.
I decided to use tilda with Hawiian flower, I really do love this image, and for a change I gave her blonde hair and went with peach and green.
The papers are from the totally scrumptious Mellissa Frances pad 5th avenue, (can you keep a secret? I bought one of these pads, but when I saw it I knew I had to buy more so I could have some to keep!!Lol, so I bought 2 more pads and Ive got them hidden hehehee)

Happy Birthday Charlie

Good afternoon, well as many of you know this would have been my son Charlie's 11th birthday today. My sisters and I with Meghan released balloons yesterday at the end of the highland games, and after they were released the formed themselves into the shape of letter C, I really wish I had taken a photo of this but through many tears and utter astonishment I missed the moment. I don't have a belief in any kind off religion but I do believe that there is something after death, not sure what but I think there is something.

Its been 18 months since he died and in someways it still feels unreal to us that hes no longer here with us.

Ive got a couple of photos of him that I love and a little poem that was written for him by a member of staff who worked for Robin House, one of Scotlands childrens hospices, where he was a regular visitor and where he always got away with murder!!

This was taken just before we moved house in 2009. Alex was meant to be in the photo to but he escaped!

This is the last photo taken of Charlie. It was taken in November 2009 and I didnt know this existed. His teacher in hospital had taken it and it was handed to me a few months after his death, and I am so grateful for it, it means the world to me and its just how I want to remember him.

Charlie

Charlie was the kind of boy, who touched everybody's heart,
His cheeky grin and character clear from the very start.
On his first day at Robin House he was settled in by Morag,
From that day it was obvious that he could be a toe-rag.

Charlie always made sure, that his days were very busy,
Whoever looking after him, their head was in a tizzy.
He loved his action figures and Argos catalogue,
Being outside despite the weather, with Susan and her dog.

There was one thing in particular that Charlie liked to do,
Making up his own creations, a very special brew.
None of us were brave enough, to have a little taste,
Cos what had started off as liquid had quickly turned to paste.

The Chassy bus a favourite to places near and far,
Whatever destination, Charlie was the star.
Always watching and listening and learning things anew,
Soaking up information is what Charlie liked to do.

Charlie wasn't just a learner, as he taught us such a lot,
He meant so much to all of us and never will be forgot.

Happy birthday sweetheart xxxxx

Explore Tilda...

Hello lovely bloggers, Ive finally managed to get a card done to share with you all. Ive been very busy behind the scenes getting ready for Airth Highland Games on Saturday. I think Ive almost managed to get everything done, just got a few finishing touches to do. Then it should be all sytems go. Just hope the weather behaves!!

I coloured in this cutie yesterday as I was badly needing to chill out and I find colouring very relaxing, well it would have been if we hadnt had a powercut which meant I had three kids with no tv, computers or music etc!!! total nightmare, luckily it was only off for an hour, but boy was that a long hour!

So back to the card, I coloured her with primas, and I used the gorgeous first edition papers called birdsong. the pale pink flowers from WOC work perfect with these papers as does the wide peachy/pink organza ribbon that I have in my stash. I cut out the doohickey swirl and leaves from matching papers. The sentiment is from whimsy stamps. and the little peach butterflies are from a friend.

If I find time tomorrow I will pop back with some pics of my goodies that Ive made for my stall, if not Ill share the photos of the stall when its all set up.

Finally thank you to everyone for your kind comments and messages ive received regarding Charlie, sunday is when his birthday is so its very difficult, many cards have been made this week through tears but I will get through it. As he loved bagpipes, I am planning to release 11 balloons at the end of the games when the mass pipe bands are on the field, its my way of saying happy birthday to him. I may also do a post on sunday, if im able, with a poem that was especially written for him.

Great big hugs and many thanks xxx

Sweet strawberries...

Hello dear bloggers, before I start anything today I would like to say a big thank you for all the lovely comments that have been left for me, it means the world to me that people can be so kind and caring when Im feeling very low. Im having a better day today, Meghan and I sat and watched some videos of charlies first year of life and they have brought back many good memories even though it was full of many ups and downs and all of it in hospital. It still helped.
So while I am having a good day I thought I would share with you the card I made for my Mums 79th!! birthday, cant believe shes 80 next year!, (I was a mistake baby!!, so I keep getting told !!LOL)

Ive went with strawberry Tilda today as, my Mum loves strawberries, and she is always in her garden, and somehow this Tilda reminded me of her, Dont tell her its because of the head scarf!! (shes not got a computer so she'll never know! )

The sentiment is computor generated, and Meghan coloured the strawberry charm with promarkers.

Image is coloured with prismas, flowers are WOC, ribbon and seam binding from stash. Papers are all magnolia

I know I said it at the start but really Thank you to you all for the lovely heartwarmimg comments and for all your love.

Pretty in pink..

How are you all today?
Sorry for the late post its been a long day today, Ive had a migraine since the early hours of this morning and nothing will shift it, so Im feeling pretty rotten. Also please forgive me if I dont get too many cards on over the coming 2 weeks, its not a good time for me really as it would have been Charlies birthday in 12 days time, he would have been 11, and Im really struggling to focus on things as it draws nearer and Im feeling very low to be honest.
Sorry for moaning but I feel I should give an explanation now, so if I do go missing you will all know why.

Right lets get onto todays card, which is one of my favourite images from LOTV, I just think she is so cute with her high heels and pretty beads on, Ive a feeling my youngets Maya is going to be like this, she already got a handbag, and the pose to go with it !!lol, at 18 months old I tell you!!

The image is coloured as usual with prisma pencils blended with sansodor. The decorative edging I bought of ebay so Im not sure which make of punch was used.

Ive used liquid pearls for her 'pearl' necklace, highlighted nearly everything with crystal stickles. The ribbon and pearl pin are from the ribbon girl. Papers are kars.

Shes just the cutest!

Ive used flowers from WOC and from Sara. Ive used german glass glitter in fuschia on the main rose also. The butterfly is from meiflower.

I would like to enter this into the following challanges,

Bling it on - anything goes
Allsorts challenge - Free and Easy July
Lollipop craft challenge  - anything goes

Lovely day...

Good evening dear bloggers, what a lovely day Ive had today. I got to play for a good 3 hours with all my new stash that Ive collected over the past weeks and have been saving till I had the time to sit down and play with it all together. The weather has been nice apart from few showers and Ive had a very nice tea and a few glasses of wine with my sister in law while the kids played outside with the rabbits and guinea pigs with their big cousins.

I hought I would share a few photos of things that I have been buying and then show you a card that I have made today.

Some gorgeous Melissa Frances papers called 5th avenue, paperceller pad called wedding which were both from a fab shop online called Craft Island

The pins, loose charms and ribbons are from The Ribbon Girl
Butterfly charms from Meiflower

The Pion papers and GCD ella blue pad are from Dies to die for, and I still havent cut into the pion papers too gorgeous!

Anyway let me show you todays card which I made using the scrummy melissa Frances 5th avenue pad, these papers are to die for, to me they remind me of ice cream!lol Seriously they are real summer soft strawberry, mint choc chip and vanilla ice cream colours!

Im not very happy with the photos as they look much paler and summery IRL.
I decided to do another easel card as I wanted to show as much of the paper that I could and I think this is the best way to show the papers.

I stitched around the edges, added ruffle ribbon which is gorgeous, used THAT DIE again heheheee ( the cheery lynne one), although I cut it in half so that I could get maximum use on the card.

The flowers are WOC and the bunting is made with a whimsy die. Sentiment is from a fizzy moon stamp set.

Pheeww that was a long post hope your still with me! LOL!!
Right well Im off for a cup of tea and to have a browse through all the blogs I follow to see what Ive missed today.

Love And Hugs
Kat
